Assam: Man accused of stealing Rs 4 crore from Hitachi arrested in Guwahati
Guwahati: A man posted at a manager-level position in a private company having an office in Guwahati, Assam was arrested for allegedly stealing nearly Rs 4 crore.
According to sources, the city police arrested Ajay Biswakarma, a manager-level employee at Hitachi's Guwahati office, on Wednesday for allegedly embezzling Rs 4 crore in company funds meant for ATM deposits.

Biswakarma, along with other unidentified colleagues, planned the theft. He was reportedly entrusted with depositing the cash at a State Bank of India (SBI) ATM, but instead, they absconded with the money.

Following the company's report of the missing funds, Dispur Police Station launched an investigation and apprehended Biswakarma in Guwahati's Narengi area.
The search for the remaining accomplices continues.
