Guwahati: Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), India’s largest private airport operator, has been recognised by the Prix Versailles, a global architecture and design award, after two of its airports were included in the World’s Most Beautiful Airports List 2026.

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) and Terminal 2 of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) in Guwahati were featured on the list, which honours airport design, sustainability and passenger-focused planning.

Prix Versailles, an annual award presented at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, recognises newly built airports and terminals for architectural excellence and innovation.

Other airports on the 2026 list include those in Guangzhou, Frankfurt am Main, Kandal Stueng, Pittsburgh and San Diego.

NMIA Terminal 1 was recognised for its lotus-inspired design and integration of technology, art and functionality, while LGBIA Terminal 2 was noted for its Bamboo Orchid-inspired architecture reflecting regional biodiversity and sustainable design elements.

A spokesperson for Adani Airport Holdings Ltd said the recognition reflects its focus on infrastructure development.

“We are honoured to see our airports recognised globally and remain committed to delivering world-class experiences that position India among leading aviation markets. The recognition of NMIA and Guwahati Airport by Prix Versailles validates our focus on infrastructure that combines architectural excellence, sustainability and operational efficiency,” the spokesperson said.

The Prix Versailles awards promote sustainable architecture and design integration. Three airports or terminals from the 2026 list will also receive special World Titles later this year.
