Assam: Gang involved in kidnapping busted in Guwahati
Guwahati: Two men suspected of being part of a gang involved in abductions were arrested by the police in Guwahati, Assam on Thursday.
According to police officials, the accused identified as Faruk Ali (24) and Amir Ali (33) were arrested based on an ongoing investigation.
Police said that on September 27 the duo abducted two unsuspecting passengers, Mukhlal Mistri and his son from Bihar, who had hired their cab (AS 01 DR 4925) late at night.

The victims were assaulted and robbed of Rs 7,000, mobile handsets, and valuable items at the Jalukbari flyover.
The duo following the incident approached the police.

The police registered a case (Jalukbari PS C No-491/24) and launched an investigation.
The police said that by utilizing the CEIR portal and tracking backward linkages, the team successfully captured the accused and seized the vehicle used in the crime.
The police have initiated necessary legal actions and are continuing to interrogate the accused to uncover other incidents involving the same modus operandi.
