Assam: Rajpal Singh takes over as PCCF & HoFF (in-charge)

IFS officer Rajpal Singh has been appointed as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force (HoFF) Assam (in-charge).

Guwahati: IFS officer Rajpal Singh has been appointed as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force (HoFF) Assam (in-charge).

He takes over the charge from outgoing PCCF and HoFF Mahendra Kumar Yadav, who retired on superannuation on Thursday.

An official order stated that Singh, who currently holds the position of Principal Chief Conservator Forests (Social Forestry), Assam, will take over his new role in an "in-charge" capacity until further orders.

The order is effective from today, February 29, 2024. Rajpal Singh is a 1991 batch IFS officer.

On the other hand, IFS officer Suman Mahapatra has entrusted with the additional charge of Field Director of Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve (MTR), Assam.

This appointment comes following the retirement of Rajen Choudhury on February 29, 2024.

Mahapatra, a 1995-batch IFS officer, who currently serves as the Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, CHD, BTAD, Kokrajhar, will hold the additional charge of Field Director, MTR, "until further order and w.e.f. the date of taking over charge," as per the official notification.

Manas Tiger Reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its diverse wildlife, including tigers, rhinos, elephants, and several bird species.
