Guwahati: On Saturday evening, Zubeen Garg’s wife, Garima Saikia, made a heartfelt appeal to fans and well-wishers for a peaceful last tribute as the mortal remains of the legendary singer to be brought from Singapore.

"Hokoluke dhonyobaad aaru nomoskar jonaysu… Greetings and thanks to all. Zubeen Da will come now. You gave him immense love and blessings when he was alive, and now he will come. Let everything be done peacefully," Garima emotionally urged in a message shared through Zubeen Garg’s official Facebook page.

She repeatedly emphasized the need for calm and order during Zubeen’s final journey, adding: “Police and administration have been helping us a lot. Let Zubeen come. We’ll see him for the last time.”

Garima also highlighted the invaluable role of Siddhartha Sharma, Zubeen’s long-time manager, recalling how he had supported the family during Zubeen’s critical illness in Mumbai in 2020.

“With Zubeen, Siddhartha is like our own brother. Zubeen liked him very much. Tomorrow, we need Siddhartha. I cannot do anything without him. Many incomplete works of Zubeen must be taken forward. Without him, something will be left unfinished in life,” she said in tears.

Making a direct plea, she urged authorities and fans alike to withdraw the police information (Ezhaar) lodged against Siddhartha, stressing that his presence was essential for carrying forward Zubeen’s legacy.

Zubeen Garg, often hailed as the ‘Voice of Assam’, tragically passed away in a sea mishap in Singapore on Friday at the age of 52. His untimely demise has left Assam and the entire music fraternity in deep mourning.
