Inaugurated by Cotton University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ramesh Ch. Deka, the event witnessed the presence of national award-winning Assamese singer Tarali Sarma, RSS Northeast India media coordinator Dr. Sunil Mohanty, and other dignitaries.

Dr. Deka emphasized the importance of portraying diverse characters with accurate perspectives in cinema. Music composer Sarma lauded the organizers for their dedication to honoring India's rich cultural heritage.

Dr. Mohanty highlighted the potential of cinema to drive social change and unity. He urged filmmakers to prioritize societal impact over commercial gain, emphasizing the importance of family values, human potential, and environmental consciousness.

Organized by Chalachitram, a subsidiary of Vishwa Samvad Kendra Assam, the two-day festival showcases 50 documentary and short feature films, focusing on the theme "Our Heritage, Our Pride."

A jury panel will select winning films, which will be honored with cash prizes, trophies, and certificates.
