Manipur: Two students found guilty of impersonation in Class X Board Exams

Imphal: On the first day of the Class 10 board exams conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM), two individuals were found guilty of impersonation and were expelled at Brilliant Public School, Samurou Centre in Imphal West district on Friday.

These perpetrators could face imprisonment for up to six months or a fine ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 1 lakh, or both as per the state government’s implementation of the Manipur Prevention of Malpractices in High School Leaving Certificate and Higher Secondary Examinations Bill, 2024.

According to an official statement issued by Ayam Thoi Singh, Controller of Examination of BOSEM, 37,715 students are appearing for the examinations at 154 centres across the state.

Of the 37,715 students, 27,281 are from private institutions 9,119 students are from government schools and 1,315 others are from aided schools.

Moreover, for the smooth conduct of the examinations, the authorities have imposed CrPC Section 144 in and around the centres.

The examination will continue till April 8, next month, he added
