For the first time in the history of Class 10 examinations, the BOSEM has deviated from the ranking or division system used in the past, focusing more on holistic assessment methods as per state cabinet decisions.

The private schools led with a 95.93 per cent pass percentage, followed by aided schools with a commendable pass percentage of 92.745 per cent and the Government schools had a pass percentage of 84.34 per cent.

The examinations were held at 154 centers across different districts accommodating a total of 37,715 students, comprising 19,087 boys and 18,628 girls.

Thoubal district emerged as the frontrunner with the highest pass percentage of 99.04 per cent, showcasing exceptional performance by its students.

In contrast, the Jiribam district reports the lowest pass percentage of 50.74 per cent, signalling a need for educational interventions.

The exams were held from March 15 to April 8 this year, following the traditional pen-paper mode.

No division or rank was awarded in the grading system for the examinations.

Students were graded with A1 for those getting 91 to 100 and A2 for those getting from 81 to 90.

E1 would be awarded for those with 21 to 30 marks and termed as fail along with E2.

“In the grading system being introduced, no total marks/aggregate will be displayed in the document, no division/rank will be awarded, and only pass/fail will be printed,” an official said.
