Drugs worth Rs 1 crore seized at Manipur-Myanmar border

Imphal:  In a joint operation, central and state forces in Manipur have seized a large quantity of illegal drugs at the border town of Moreh, which shares a border with Myanmar.

The recovered drugs, estimated to be worth around Rs 1 crore in the international market, were identified as 20,000 WY tablets.

WY tablets, also known as "biker's coffee," "bhool bhulaiya," and the "madness drug," are psychoactive substances.

According to a statement issued on Sunday, the drugs were found in an unattended carton hidden in bushes behind the Inspection Banglow and Helipad area during a search operation conducted by Assam Rifles, BSF, Manipur Police, and RAF in Namkhai Veng, Moreh.

The successful operation comes after a Joint Security Coordination Meeting organized by Assam Rifles in Moreh on Saturday.

The seized drugs have been handed over to the Moreh Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
