NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has been granted bail in connection with the ongoing liquor policy case.

On Thursday (June 20), a Delhi court granted bail to chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in the money laundering case related to the now-scrapped liquor policy.

The order was passed by Rouse Avenue Court's vacation Judge Nyay Bindu after reserving it earlier in the day.

Following the court's decision to grant bail to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in the case, the enforcement directorate (ED) requested a 48-hour period to sign the bail bond, intending to challenge the verdict before a higher court.

However, the judge denied the request to stay the order.

The AAP leader can leave Tihar Jail on Friday (June 21) after posting a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh.

Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 in a dramatic turn of events just before the Lok Sabha polls.

In May, the Supreme Court granted him interim bail considering the general elections.

He subsequently surrendered on June 2.
