Crown gifted by PM Modi stolen from Bangladesh temple

Dhaka: A sacred crown gifted by Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi to the Jeshoreshwari Kali Temple in Satkhira, Bangladesh, has reportedly been stolen.

The crown, made of silver and gold, holds immense cultural and religious significance, particularly for Hindu devotees.

The theft occurred on Thursday afternoon, with police confirming the incident and reviewing the temple's CCTV footage to identify the culprit.

The High Commission of India in Bangladesh expressed concern and urged the Bangladeshi government to investigate the theft, recover the crown, and take action against those responsible.

The Jeshoreshwari Kali temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths in Hinduism, making it a revered site for devotees.

The crown was gifted by PM Modi during his visit to Bangladesh in March 2021, symbolizing the strong cultural ties between India and Bangladesh.
