Imphal: The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), one of the powerful organizations in the state has demanded to hand over the case relating to the killing of two CRPF personnel and injuring others to the central investigating agencies — either CBI or the NIA for finding the details at the earliest.

The demand of the COCOMI came promptly after the Inspector General of the CRPF Akhilesh Prasad announced launching counter-insurgency campaigns and arresting the perpetrators involved in the crime booking them as per the law of the land at the earliest.

Additionally, many voluntary outfits belonging to the Kuki tribes including the Kuki Inpi Manipur, the apex body of Kuki tribes, blamed the Valley-based Insurgent Groups (VBIGs) for the attacks.

In a statement, the COCOMI urged the government of India to conduct counter-operation to nab Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists involved in the “Naranseina attack” in which two CRPF personnel were killed and two CRPF men injured.

Moirang police station registered a case after the crime was committed on April 27, 2024.

Though, no outfit claims responsibility for the attacks so far, six bunkers belonging to the Kuki miscreants were destroyed following the attacks on the security forces.

Altogether 11 security personnel including three CRPF personnel have lost their lives in the ongoing ethnic violence that erupted on May 3, 2023, with the latest casualties being the CRPF personnel including a sub-inspector in the Naranseina attack.

Besides, more than 30 security personnel of central and state forces also suffered injuries during this period, according to the COCOMI.
