AGARTALA: Tripura chief minister Manik Saha, on Thursday (May 16), expressed confidence, asserting that the BJP would secure victory in 32 out of 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal.

Based on this sentiment, he expressed his hope that the BJP would emerge victorious in 32 constituencies out of the total 42 in West Bengal.

In the previous Lok Sabha elections held in 2019, the BJP secured 18 seats out of the 42 constituencies in Bengal, marking its best performance in the state thus far.

“We are all dedicated to achieving this goal. I have actively campaigned for the party in West Bengal and will continue to do so. Our collective efforts aim to ensure that the BJP-led NDA secures more than 400 Lok Sabha seats out of the total 543,” he affirmed.

Later in the day, the Tripura chief minister is set to depart for Kolkata to participate in the party's campaign activities for the remaining three phases of the elections.

Dismissing the opposition's claims suggesting the BJP would secure fewer than 200 seats, the Tripura CM regarded such assertions as mere attempts to rally support among their party's followers.
