Agartala: The BJP has unveiled its roster of 40-star campaigners, including prominent figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda, who are set to canvass in Tripura for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and by-polls.

With elections scheduled on April 19 and April 26 for the West and East (ST) Parliamentary seats respectively, along with a by-election for the 7-Ramnagar Assembly Constituency, the BJP has put forth its heavyweight lineup for the campaign trail in the state.

Former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb will contest for the West parliamentary constituency, while Kriti Singh Debbarma is nominated for the East (ST) Parliamentary seat. Additionally, Dipak Majumder, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation, will vie for the 7-Ramnagar Assembly Constituency, necessitated by the demise of BJP MLA Surajit Datta.

In a communication addressed to Chief Election Commissioner of India Rajiv Kumar, BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh submitted, “I am enclosing a list of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders who will participate in the election campaign for the ongoing General Elections to the Lok Sabha 2024, in the State of Tripura, for the Parliamentary Constituency and Bye-elections to the 7-Ramnagar Legislative Assembly Constituency. This list shall be considered valid for the remaining Parliamentary Constituency in Tripura unless an amended list is forwarded within the stipulated timeframe.”

The star-studded lineup features prominent figures like Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, along with Nitin Gadkari, Sarbananda Sonowal, Kiren Rijiju, Rajib Bhattacharya, Mithun Chakraborty, Sambit Patra, Amit Rakshit, Pratima Bhoumik, and several others.
