Borah also claimed that there was no reason for him to join the BJP.
"I don't think that if I join the BJP, they would solve the problems of the people. They will no deal with the issues of the six communities in Assam or do the things they promised before polls", he added.
He also claimed that the CM has failed to meet all the promises he ever made and hence tries to divert the attention of the media and citizens by making baseless and useless statements.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa had claimed that state Congress chief Bhupen Borah would join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2025.

He further claimed that by 2026 there would be no Congress in the Hindu-majority areas and by 2032, it (Congress) would also be “removed” from the Muslim-majority area.
