Since Oct 16, when insurgents attacked an Assam Rifles Company Operating Base (COB) in Changlang district, there has been a series of incidents in the area.

During the ongoing counter-insurgency operations, security forces, too, have achieved initial success by eliminating one hardcore ULFA-I cadre and arresting another, while a third surrendered.

Security forces, too, have recovered a lot of sophisticated arms and ammunition during this period. To cover one such counter-insurgency operation in eastern Arunachal Pradesh, various teams of security forces conducted the operation.

In order to avoid casualties, security forces used Caspir vehicles so that they could negotiate with the potential threat from explosives and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

In addition, combat drones and highly trained explosive detection and tracker dogs are being used.

Day in and day out, braving inclement weather, trekking across the thick jungles, crossing rivers and rivulets, security forces are in hot pursuit of the insurgents who are trying to once again destabilize the region's peace and tranquility.

Following the Delhi bomb blast, security forces have been alert and are taking all preventive measures to curb such activities.

"We have stepped up vigil along the border areas of Arunachal Pradesh," said a police official.
