Tezpur: The student agitation at Tezpur University reached a new phase on Thursday, as the unified student body enforced a complete lockdown of the campus, marking the most intense escalation yet in the ongoing protest.

The students are demanding the immediate presence of two key officials: Finance Officer Braja Bandhu Mishra and Chief Executive Engineer Jadav Chandra Nath.

The fraternity insists on a direct dialogue with these authorities to address serious, long-standing concerns regarding financial and infrastructural discrepancies that have been central to the current unrest.

In a powerful move, the university community has also reiterated its urgent appeal to the Union Ministry of Education.

They are specifically demanding the appointment of an Acting Vice Chancellor to oversee the university's operations during the current crisis and ongoing investigations.

A protesting student said, "This lockdown will continue indefinitely until our core demands are met. We stand firm in our pursuit of transparency, accountability, and responsible leadership."

With growing resolve and increasing public attention, the Tezpur University fraternity is maintaining its unified stance, ensuring that no entry or exit is permitted as they press for resolution and administrative change.

The core demands include the immediate presence of Finance Officer Braja Bandhu Mishra, the immediate presence of Chief Executive Engineer Jadav Chandra Nath, and the urgent appointment of an Acting Vice Chancellor by the Union Ministry of Education.
