Novotel Guwahati celebrates Magh Bihu with ‘Flavours of Assam’
Guwahati: Novotel Guwahati GS Road will celebrate Magh Bihu with Flavours of Assam, a special themed dinner at its all-day dining restaurant, The Square. The hotel will host the event on January 14 and 15, 2026, from 7 pm to 11 pm.
The celebration aims to highlight the rich traditions and authentic flavours of Assamese cuisine. Magh Bihu, also known as Bhogali Bihu, marks the harvest season. It symbolises abundance, gratitude and togetherness.

To keep this spirit alive, Novotel Guwahati has curated an elaborate Assamese menu. The spread will feature traditional delicacies such as til pitha, gila pitha and assorted larus. Guests can also relish duck cooked with black sesame, ari masor tenga, lai xaak gahori, omitar khar and kola chawlor kheer. The menu also includes several other seasonal dishes. Chefs will prepare the food using fresh local ingredients to reflect Assam’s culinary heritage.
Meanwhile, The Square will wear a festive look with traditional décor. The setting will recreate the warmth and vibrancy of Magh Bihu celebrations. In addition, guests will enjoy a lively festive ambience with music and cultural elements that define Bihu.
