NHAI collects Rs 452 crores in toll tax from Assam's nine toll gates in 2023

Sonapur: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has collected a significant Rs 452.22 crores in toll taxes from nine toll gates across Assam during the calendar year 2023.

This data, disclosed in response to an RTI query filed by Rakesh Hazarika, Executive Director of the Centre for Efficient Governance, provides a detailed breakdown of the revenue generated by each toll gate.

The Madanpur Toll Gate emerged as the top revenue generator, collecting Rs 117.68 crores. It was closely followed by Nazirakhat with Rs 91.13 crores and Dahalapara with Rs 63.16 crores.

Other notable contributors include Patgaon (Rs 61.55 crores), Raha (Rs 58.43 crores), Mikirati Hawgaon (Rs 31.61 crores), and Galia (Rs 24.01 crores).

While Manderdisa and Balachera collected Rs 3.77 crores and Rs 0.88 crores, respectively.

This data highlights the substantial revenue generated from toll taxes in Assam.
