Party sources said the discussions focused on election preparedness, voter list revisions, and strengthening the party’s organizational outreach across Assam.

The Assam Assembly elections are expected to take place in March-April 2026, and the process of SR of electoral rolls is already underway. According to the Election Commission’s instructions, January 1, 2026, will serve as the qualifying date for the Special Revision in the state.

Officials noted that the SR process in Assam falls between the annual special summary revision and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Last month, the EC ordered SIR in 12 states and Union Territories, four of which will hold assembly elections next year.

The meeting highlighted the party’s emphasis on robust voter outreach, updated electoral data, and meticulous planning to enhance its prospects in the upcoming polls.
