The Congress party in Assam has been vocal in condemning the alleged targeting of its cadres by the police, labelling it as an attempt to disrupt the electoral process and undermine democratic principles.
“The Morigaon police is at it again! Continuing to terrorise Congress cadres on the eve of Lok Sabha election 2024,” said Pradyut Bordoloi.
He added: “The state SC department chairperson (of Assam Congress) Krishna Das has been illegally picked up at the stroke of midnight and detained in the Jagiroad thana.”
