GUWAHATI: Weather conditions in the Northeast state of Assam are likely to deteriorate with heavy rainfall expected over the next few days.

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Guwahati issued a statement, cautioning about turbulent weather conditions in Assam.

According to the RMC-Guwahati, heavy rainfall is likely to lash different parts of Assam between April 15 and April 18.

Assam is likely to encounter turbulent weather conditions owing to a cyclonic circulation over North Bangladesh and its vicinity, combined with moisture influx from the Bay of Bengal.

As per the RMC-Guwahati forecast, Assam is set to witness thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds, and scattered to widespread rainfall during this period.

Heavy rainfall is expected in Assam on April 16 and 17.
