The primary objective is to empower the next generation to become problem-solvers and potential job creators, steering India toward becoming a global hub for innovation-driven enterprises.

Guwahati: In a major step toward fostering a culture of innovation across the Northeast, Girijananda Chowdhury University is set to host the three-day AICTE Innovation Design & Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp for Principals and Teachers of PM SHRI Schools.

The pivotal event, scheduled from December 17th to December 19th, 2025, is a high-level collaboration between AICTE, Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL), NCERT, as well as the Union Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell and School Innovation Council.

The IDE Bootcamp is a crucial component of the ambitious PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) Scheme, a centrally sponsored initiative launched to transform over 14,500 existing schools across India into exemplary institutions, aiming to create model schools that foster competency-based, experiential learning, and future-ready skills. By hosting this major regional bootcamp, GCU will serve as the designated nodal centre for the entire Northeast, directly facilitating the Union Ministry's mission to spark innovation across all PM SHRI schools.

The bootcamps are specifically designed to train principals and teachers as 'innovation ambassadors,' equipping them with the necessary skills to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset in students from the school level. The primary objective is to empower the next generation to become problem-solvers and potential job creators, steering India toward becoming a global hub for innovation-driven enterprises.

The core training at the IDE Bootcamp will immerse participants in the Human-Centred Approach to Innovation, engaging them with practical frameworks like the D.I.S.R.U.P.T model,  complemented by a motivational Panel Discussion featuring "Young Founders." The sessions will also delve into developing viable business solutions, where educators will learn to "Know your Customer" through a "Customer Persona Lab" and use the Jobs-to-be-Done (JTBD) Approach to craft a unique value proposition.

Above all, the IDE Bootcamp will focus on practical execution and sustainability, including an informative session on Basics of Financial Literacy, Prototyping, and an overview of grants and funding opportunities for student start-ups, ensuring participants are fully equipped to guide their students through the complexities of the startup journey.
