Congress leader Rahul Gandhi likely to campaign in Assam for second phase of Lok Sabha elections

GUWAHATI: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is expected to visit Nagaon in Assam on April 20 ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Voting in Assam will occur over three phases, scheduled for April 19, April 26 and May 07 respectively.

Priyanka Gandhi is also likely to participate in election rallies in Jorhat and Dibrugarh constituencies of Assam before the commencement of the first phase of the Lok Sabha polls.

According to reports, having previously toured Jorhat and its adjacent areas during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Rahul Gandhi has opted not to conduct further campaigning in those regions.

However, the program remains tentative and has not been confirmed yet.

It may be mentioned here that the Assam BJP, had earlier, announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address several rallies in Assam and Tripura on April 17.
