New Delhi: A 21-year-old woman from Assam was fatally stabbed to death at her residence in Delhi’s Dwarka on Saturday evening.

The victim, identified as Sneha Nath Choudhary, hailed from Chhibila Bacchiya in Silchar.

Police responded to an emergency call reporting an attempted murder and found Choudhary unconscious at the scene. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The accused, identified as Raj, 25, was apprehended at the scene with a hand injury. Preliminary investigation suggests the two were acquainted and had a history of disputes.

Police believe Raj attacked Choudhary with a knife during a heated argument.

The accused had gone to her house in the evening and attacked her with a knife. "During a scuffle with the woman, Raj also sustained injury on his hand, the officer said," the police said.

When police reached the spot, they found the woman lying on the floor in an unconscious state.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
