Assam: Wall collapses on family, man & six-month-old son die in Cachar

Guwahati: A man along with his six-month-old son died after a wall collapsed on them amidst the heavy rain in Cachar, Assam.

The deceased were identified as Aziruddin and his six-month-old son, Asifuddin.

Both died on the spot before any help could arrive.

Reports indicate that incessant rainfall weakened the mud wall, causing it to suddenly give way and bury the family beneath debris.

While Aziruddin and Asifuddin did not survive, other family members sustained injuries.

Police and emergency response team reached the spot shortly after the incident and recovered the bodies for autopsy.
