Guwahati: Two Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers have been suspended by the state's personnel department for failing to join their assigned positions.

The two 2016 batch ACS officers Jharnajyoti Patgiri and Pinky Dutta were transferred by personnel department but they did not report the new office.

Patgiri, who was serving as the Additional District Commissioner (ADC) of Bishwanath, was transferred to as ADC Hailakandi by Personnel Department in February.

However, she allegedly did not report for duty despite instructions. The report claims he was absent without authorization since the directive.

Similarly, Pinky Dutta was transferred as ADC Biswanath but did not join duty. Citing similar reasons, the personnel department suspended Dutta on April 23 and initiated a departmental inquiry.
