The group was reportedly attempting to sell tiger bones and is being investigated for links to past rhino-poaching cases.

Investigations are ongoing.

Forest officials stated that the operation was based on intelligence regarding the movement of wildlife trophies across the Gohpur–Biswanath area.

Officials said the recovered tiger bones may be connected to networks previously involved in rhino poaching.

Assam Forest Department officials said questioning of the five arrested suspects may reveal connections to older networks.

Further details are expected.
