Assam: Three 'poachers' arrested in Hojai

Guwahati: At least three men were arrested in Hojai, Assam on suspicion of being poachers by forest officials.

As per reports, the trio was arrested based on specific inputs present with the department.

Forest officials stated that they were allegedly planning some poaching activity and hence, the department made a plan to nab them.

The suspected poachers were arrested near the main town in Lanka following an extensive search.

The department on apprehending them seized a hand-made pistol, a chainsaw and other heavy equipment from them.

The three were identified as Abdur Rahman, Samaruddin and Ajiruddin.

An investigation has been initiated in connection to their activities.
