Assam: Three NIT Silchar students drown at Dima Hasao waterfall, one body recovered

The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Sarvakritika Singh from Uttar Pradesh, whose body was recovered during the rescue operation.

Guwahati: Three students from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar drowned at Hmunthajao Waterfall under Harangajao Police Station in Assam’s Dima Hasao district.
According to police reports, a group of seven students had visited the waterfall for sightseeing when the accident occurred.

Three of them were swept away by the strong water current and went missing.
The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Sarvakritika Singh from Uttar Pradesh, whose body was recovered during the rescue operation.
The two missing students are Radhika (19) from Bihar and Sauhard Rai (20) from Uttar Pradesh.
Local police, SDRF, and rescue teams have launched a search operation to trace the missing students. Further updates are awaited.
