Assam: Suspected cattle smuggler injured in police firing in Dhubri

Guwahati: A man suspected of being involved in cattle smuggling was injured in police firing in Dhubri, Assam on Wednesday.

According to reports, the incident took place near the Golakganj.

The injured person was identified as Sirajul Haque.

The police said that the accused was apprehended from Golakganj based on inputs.

However, it was alleged that he physically assaulted one of the policemen.

The police had to resort to "controlled firing" when the situation escalated.

He was injured as he was hit with a bullet in his leg.

The suspect has been admitted to the Dhubri Medical College Hospital for medical attention.
