Assam: Stage set for MMA championship in Guwahati
Guwahati: The sixth edition of the ‘Bidang Fighting Championship,’ a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competition, will be held at the Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium in Assam’s state capital Guwahati on July 21 this year.
The thrilling event will feature top MMA fighters from Afghanistan, Philippines, and Uzbekistan, who will be competing against some of India’s finest fighters, including the rising stars from Assam and other parts of the Northeast.
The event has rapidly become a cornerstone of MMA in India attracting global audiences in the recent past.
It also provides a platform for the Indian, especially the rising Northeastern MMA stars, to showcase their skills.
This year’s championship promises to be a spectacular display of raw combat sportsmanship as it will be one of the biggest global events to be held in Assam.
Since its inception in March 2017, the championship has seamlessly united a diverse array of professional MMA fighters from across the globe, including England, USA, South Africa, Thailand, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Philippines and our own home-grown Indian talents.
