Guwahati: Two schoolgirls were killed and another critically injured after being hit by a speeding Bolero in Assam's Hajo on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred near Saniadi while the girls were on their way to tuition classes.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Bolero, traveling at high speed, lost control before striking the students.

Two of the girls died on the spot, while the third was taken to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition.

The incident sparked anger among local residents, who set the Bolero on fire shortly after the crash.

Firefighters, with assistance from Hajo Police, extinguished the flames.
