Guwahati: To ensure public safety during the monsoon season and possible flood risks, the South Salmara-Mankachar district administration in Assam has imposed restrictions on movement and gatherings near the Brahmaputra River.

District Magistrate has invoked Section 144 CrPC to limit public assembly to a maximum of four people along the border road, from Hatsingimari Tiniali to Sishumara BOP, between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
