GUWAHATI: The Assam state election commission (SEC) has announced dry days ahead and during the voting process of the second phase of Lok Sabha elections.

The dry day period will span for 48 hours from April 24 to April 26.

Dry days will be observed in the Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam that go to polls in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Sale of alcohol will be prohibited in Darrang-Udalguri, Diphu, Karimganj, Silchar and Nagaon Lok Sabha constituencies of Assam.

Dry days will be observed in these Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam from 5 pm of April 24 until the conclusion of polling on April 26.

Assam is set to conduct the second phase of elections in five Lok Sabha constituencies on April 26.
