Assam: Sarbananda Sonowal, Lurinjyoti Gogoi seek blessings together ahead of LS election
Guwahati: Union Minister and BJP candidate Sarbananda Sonowal and AJP's President Lurinjyoti Gogoi were seen together at the Haldibari Nagar Than in Moran, Dibrugarh on Sunday to seek blessings ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
They were observed shaking hands, congratulating each other, and chatting during the visit.
Speaking to reporters, Sarbananda Sonowal said, "I visited the Haldibari Than to seek blessings. I was once elected from the Moran Legislative Assembly as an MLA, and the people gave me love and support, for which I am always indebted. Lots of development has happened in Moran under Chakradhar Gogoi."
"I have given my best wishes to Lurinjyoti Gogoi. It's a democracy, and we are here to strengthen democracy, which is a good thing," Sonowal added.
Lurinjyoti Gogoi stated, "We were once together in AASU, and Sarbananda Sonowal was a senior leader in the students' organization at that time. But now, we have different ideologies."
He added, "We are against CAA, and he supports CAA. I stand with the people of Assam and will do whatever is necessary."
