It may be mentioned that Bora served as the president of APCC from 2016 to 2021.

He, however, shifted to the TMC in 2022 and was appointed as the state president.

He continued till August 2024 but resigned on September 1, 2024, along with several other TMC leaders and members.

Bora tendered his resignation to the party’s National Secretary, Abhishek Banerjee.

He cited the persistent perception of TMC as a regional party of West Bengal as the primary reason for his departure.

Despite his tireless efforts to establish TMC as a viable alternative to the BJP in Assam, Bora expressed his frustration at being unable to secure an appointment with Banerjee and TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee to address his concerns.
