Assam: Police nab couple with contraband drugs in Digboi

Guwahati: A team of Assam Police nabbed two individuals with over 100 grams of suspected heroin in Digboi, Tinsukia on Wednesday night.

The police said that based on inputs, they raided a residence in Golai Gaon No 3 in Digboi.

During the operation, the police found Biman Talukdar and his with 116.8 grams of suspected narcotics.

The consignment was said to be valued at approximately Rs 3 lakh, concealed within ten soap boxes.

Following the recovery, the police arrested the husband-wife duo.

They further seized a car, three mobile phones, two bank passbooks and Rs 16,900 in cash.

Investigations revealed the couple had brought the drugs from Dimapur in Nagaland.

Notably, this arrest comes just one month after Biman Talukdar's release from jail for a previous drug offence.
