Assam police constable arrested for tipping off drug dealers about raids
NAGAON: Amidst ongoing efforts to curb the menace of drugs in Assam, police in Nagaon district of the state apprehended a constable suspected of aiding drug peddlers.
The arrested Assam police constable has been identified as Mokram Hussain.
Hussain was taken into custody by the crime branch of the Nagaon police on Thursday (May 02) night.
Hussain, who had been serving as a bodyguard to a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in Nagaon district of Assam, stands accused of allegedly informing drug dealers about upcoming police raids through phone communications while on duty.

Following an inquiry, the police arrested Mokram Hussain.
Interrogation of the arrested constable is underway to ascertain the extent of his involvement in divulging sensitive information to drug traffickers.
