Assam: "Poacher" nabbed with venison in Raimona National Park
Guwahati: A suspected poacher was arrested at the Raimona National Park in Assam on Friday.
According to reports, a forest department team based on inputs, nabbed the suspect.
The suspect was accused of being involved in hunting protected wildlife.
A source said that the suspect was identified as Ashorsing Basumatary.

He is a resident of Nandipur village in Gossaigaon, Kokrajhar.
The forest department officials nabbed the suspect with a huge quantity of venison (deer meat).
On checking the quantity, the forest department officials found nearly 10 kilograms of suspected venison, the source said.

They said that a deer head was also found from the possession of the accused.
He is suspected of poaching elephants, deer, and other wildlife as well.
The forest department has booked him under the relevant sections.
