Bajali: A grand cultural rally was held in Assam's Pathsala to mark the golden jubilee celebration of the historic Pathsala Raas Mahotsav.

Thousands of devotees, students, artists, and cultural troupes participated in the colourful procession, turning the town into a vibrant spectacle of devotion and tradition.

The rally, which began from the Pathsala station, showcased various tableaux depicting episodes from Lord Krishna’s life, along with traditional dance performances, folk music, and displays representing Assam’s diverse cultural heritage.

Participants dressed in ethnic attire carried religious flags, banners, and idols of Lord Krishna, spreading messages of peace and devotion.

Local schools, colleges, and cultural organisations took part enthusiastically, while residents thronged the streets to witness the grand procession.

The rally was flagged off by several dignitaries and members of the Raas Mahotsav Committee, who lauded the overwhelming participation and community spirit.

This year’s celebration holds special significance as the Pathsala Raas Mahotsav completes its glorious 50 years.

The 17-day-long festival, inaugurated by Assam Cabinet Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass, includes devotional programmes, religious plays, art exhibitions, and cultural competitions.

Organisers said the rally symbolised unity and faith, bringing together people of all ages to celebrate Assam’s age-old Raas tradition with grandeur and devotion.
