Assam: Partially decomposed dead body recovered in Chhaygaon

Guwahati: The dead body of a middle-aged man was found in the Chhaygaon region of Kamrup, Assam about 40 kilometres from Guwahati on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Kamal Das, 42, a resident of Chhaygaon Dhekenavari area.

His body was found in a semi-decomposed state in a ditch near the Gorubazar area.

Locals who found the body informed the police immediately and an investigation was initiated.

The cause of Das's death remains unclear.

The police are checking for clues on the location where his body was found.

Some locals stated that Das was missing for some days.
