Guwahati: The United Opposition Forum in Assam has lodged a police complaint against Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, accusing him of attempting to foster enmity between different religious and ethnic groups.

The complaint, filed by prominent opposition leaders, alleged that Sarma's provocative statements and actions have targeted specific communities, leading to attacks on religious minorities.

The complaint cites several instances of Sarma's alleged communal remarks, including his call to evict people from a particular religious group from Guwahati and his targeting of a journalist with communal overtones.
