Guwahati: The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Guwahati has once again secured the 12th position in the Pharmacy category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for 2024.

The results were announced by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on August 12.

Expressing satisfaction with the institute's performance, NIPER Guwahati Director Dr. USN Murty attributed the achievement to the collective efforts of faculty, students, staff, alumni, and stakeholders.

He emphasized the institute's commitment to academic excellence, groundbreaking research, and innovation.

NIPER Guwahati garnered an impressive score of 87.08 out of 100 in the Teaching, Learning, and Resources (TLR) category, reflecting its strong faculty-student ratio, qualified faculty, state-of-the-art laboratories, and robust library and sports facilities.

The institute also excelled in the Graduation Outcomes (GO) category with a score of 82.29, highlighting its students' performance in academics, placements, higher studies, and entrepreneurial ventures.

Currently, NIPER Guwahati offers Master's and PhD programs in eight specialized departments, including Pharmacology & Toxicology, Biotechnology, and Pharmaceutical Technology.

The institute's nine national centers, funded by the Government of India, contribute significantly to its research and development initiatives.

Notably, NIPER Guwahati has recently obtained NABL accreditation for its Medical Devices Testing and Calibration Facility, making it the only government facility of its kind in the Northeast.

The NIRF rankings, initiated in 2015, evaluate the overall performance of higher educational institutions in India based on parameters such as teaching, research, and outreach.
