Guwahati: An infant trafficking incident was reported on Tuesday with allegations of a newborn being sold for Rs 30,000 in Silapathar of Dhemaji, Assam.

The Dhemaji Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has lodged a complaint at the Silapathar Police Station with details of the illicit transaction.

It has been alleged that the parents of the new first faked its death and then sold it for Rs 30 thousand.
