Assam: Murder accused arrested while attempting to flee from state
Guwahati: A man accused of murder was arrested from the Hailakandi-Cachar border in Assam while trying to flee from the state.
According to reports, he was accused in a murder case of Anam Uddin, who was killed on August 12.
Saikul Islam Laskar, the main accused, was apprehended at the Hailakandi-Cachar district border while attempting to escape the state.

The murder case also took a violent turn on August 19, when a mob attacked Shiv Uttar village, setting fire to houses and vehicles, and causing substantial damage.

The mob's actions were fueled by "frustration" over the lack of arrests. However, police swiftly arrested 16 individuals involved in the arson and imposed prohibitory orders to control the situation.
Following this, on Wednesday, the police nabbed the prime suspect from the border area.
The investigation is ongoing, and further developments are expected.
