Assam: Mother-son duo electrocuted by live wire in Orang

Guwahati: A mother-son duo was killed in Orang, Assam after coming in contact with a broken electric line on the road.

As per reports, the incident took place near the Orang National Park.

The deceased were identified as Akhtara Khatun and her minor son, Saqib Ahmed.

They were on the way to visit a relative when they somehow came in contact with the electric wire that had fallen on the road.

It was reported that the wire was running with over 11,000 volts.

While the exact circumstances behind the incident are not known, locals have accused the electricity department of negligence.

Further investigation is being carried out by concerned officials.
