Assam: Mitali Gogoi’s ‘Suriya Mon’ (A Compilation of Songs) unveiled
Guwahati: ‘Suriya Mon’, a compilation of songs by Mitali Gogoi, published by Pride Assam Publications, was unveiled at the concluding ceremony of the Silver Jubilee celebration of Sonari Jatiya Vidyalaya in Assam's Charaideo district.
Jogananda Bora, Education Secretary of Jatiya Vidyalaya, along with Sunil Dutta, Rati Prabha Gogoi, Juri Devi Phukan, Bani Changmai, Naren Rajkhowa, Nirmal Saikia, Bimal Phukan of Nazira, and several other noted individuals from the region attended the event.
The book was released by noted singer and cultural activist Bani Changmai. Regarding the book, he stated, “I was deeply moved upon reading the songbook ‘Suria Mon’. The lyrics of the songs are exceptional. Mitali’s songs will remain our testament. May she continue to write. I wish Mitali continued success.”
Rati Prabha Gogoi, former President of Lekhika Sangstha, Assam, and former Principal of Sonari College, stated, “Mrs. Mitali Gogoi is a conscientious cultural activist.
‘Suria Mon’ is the culmination of her dedicated efforts. Mrs. Mitali’s endeavour to gift the discerning reader with a beautiful book is highly commendable. The content contained in the book endeavours to encompass a wide range of issues related to Assam and its societal dynamics.
The writer’s work reflects aspirations for creating a bright future that includes children, women, diverse races, cultural traditions, beliefs, scientific advancements, and a vibrant, strong community, all driven by the quest for knowledge on an environmentally sustainable planet.
