Guwahati: Assam Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika on Monday evening strongly condemned the piracy of Zubeen Garg’s dream film Roi Roi Binale, which was released recently and is currently running successfully across Assam and other parts of the country.

In a detailed statement in Assamese, Hazarika said, “Recently, we have come to notice that Zubeen da’s dream film Roi Roi Binale has fallen victim to piracy soon after its release. Even while the film is being screened proudly across Assam and in various parts of the country, some miscreants have uploaded different clips of the movie on social media platforms like YouTube and Facebook. I strongly condemn such acts and urge the police and administration to take strict punitive measures against those involved.”

The minister further said that the late singer-actor Zubeen Garg had made tireless efforts to revive the Assamese film industry, which had been struggling for years. “Zubeen da himself had always stood against piracy. But after his demise, it is unfortunate that certain evil-minded people have engaged in such activities. I appeal to all of Zubeen da’s fans and the general public to remain alert. If anyone finds someone recording the film inside a theatre or sharing it online, they must immediately inform the police,” he added.

Hazarika emphasized that the Assamese film industry, which Zubeen Garg had revitalized from near collapse, must be protected through collective effort. He urged everyone to help strengthen the industry by preventing piracy and ensuring that offenders face strict legal action.

The minister’s statement has resonated widely among Zubeen Garg’s admirers, with many calling for community vigilance to preserve the late icon’s cinematic legacy and the integrity of Assamese cinema.
