Assam: Lakhimpur doctor resigns over sluggish probe into Zubeen death
North Lakhimpur: A doctor serving in a state health centre in rural Lakhimpur has resigned from his post in protests of slow progress in the investigation of heartthrob Zubeen Garg.
Mrinmoy Hazarika, Medical and Health Officer-1 at Islampur State Dispensary, Lakhimpur resigned from his official post because of his “frustration and strong dissatisfaction of current government enquiry regarding Zubeen Garg da's death investigation process both as a citizen of India and as a student of Science”.

In a resignation letter addressed to Joint Director of Health, Lakhimpur dated October, 14, 2025 Hazarika said that not be cooperating with the District Health Service, Lakhimpur even if "ESMA Act" is invoked upon him.
